The inspiration for Rootz came when I had taken up the Paleolithic diet in 2011, and was left with virtually no options for pre and post-workout supplementation. I began to realize that most of the products on the market were loaded with chemicals and artificial ingredients, often times dangerous, and almost never Paleo-approved.
As a person who cross-trains daily, I wasn’t willing to stop taking supplements entirely, as they were so key in fueling my workouts and aiding my recovery. I spent countless hours in nutrition shops and online searching for all-natural alternatives to pre and post-workout supplements.
I wanted something that was healthy and Paleo-friendly, but would still give me results. To my frustration, every product I had tried left me disappointed. The pre-workouts were too weak, and the protein powders either didn’t taste good, or didn’t have the well-rounded nutritional profile that I was looking for.
One morning while I was a student in Ann Arbor, Michigan, I decided to try a little experiment. I went to a local health food shop, and bought a bunch of different ingredients to make my own pre and post-workout supplements. That first batch I made on day one left a lot to be desired, but it had ignited my mission to create my own pre and post-workout supplements made from real, wholesome foods.
After four years of extensive research, testing, tweaking, and feedback, I am confident in saying that I have come up with the best tasting, healthiest, and most importantly, most effective pre and post-workout nutritional supplements available. Now, I want to share them with you. I hope you enjoy.
