Chocolate Protein Banana Bread

This banana bread is so thick, dense, doughy, fudgy and chocolatey, you won’t be able to stop at one slice! Recipe by our friends Bethany and Rachel from Athletic Avocado.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 scoop Chocolate Banana Nut Rootz Paleo Protein Superfood
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1 egg/flax egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips plus more for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat an 8x8 or loaf pan with cooking spray/ wax paper
  2. In a large bowl, add together almond flour, protein powder, cocoa powder and baking soda.
  3. In a small bowl mix together bananas, nut butter, egg and maple syrup
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until combined
  5. Mix in chocolate chips and add batter to pan, top with more chocolate chips, if desired
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until done
  7. Let cool before slicing into 9 bars

Please include carb, fat and protein counts with your recipes or a diabetic is unable to use them to take correct dose of insulin. This info is on all recipes as it is critical for anyone trying to do a nutritional count of foods they eat wether they are diabetic or not. Thnks
